Seniors Gathering
Dan Levitt, the provincial government's Seniors Advocate, is coming to share about programs and to hear concerns from seniors. This is open to anyone who has concerns for seniors, maybe a caretaker or a concerned friend or family member. We will have a brief program prior to hearing from Mr. Levitt.
Teach us to Pray: Contemplative Prayer
LORD, Teach us to pray. This was perhaps the most revolutionary request that a disciple of Jesus ever made. Although scripture doesn't record the emotional response of Jesus I think it must have made his heart sing and his soul rejoice!
The thing about prayer is, we all still need to learn how to do it. As we meet together with open hearts and minds, the request of the disciples in Luke 11:1 should be our request, "LORD, Teach us to pray". The LORD Jesus taught his disciples. He will meet us and teach us.
Come join us in the fireside lounge on Tuesday 8 October and spend some time together with Jesus as he teaches us to pray.
